Our client is a leader in the manufacturing sector, specialising in the design and development of industrial equipment. With a strong emphasis on quality and innovation, they serve a growing base of clients across South Africa.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong experience in sheet metal design using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate technical drawings and designs, collaborating with engineers, and supporting the production team to deliver high-quality industrial equipment. Experience in manufacturing processes and a proactive approach to design improvement is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers and product designers to bring concepts to life.
• Review, revise, and optimize designs based on project requirements.
• Maintain drawing files and associated documentation.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry and company standards.
• Support prototype development and transition to production.
• Provide the manufacturing team with technical drawings and support.
• Participate in regular design reviews and improvement initiatives.
• Interpret technical specifications and incorporate feedback effectively.

Requirements:

• Relevant drafting or mechanical design qualification.
• 5 - 7 years' experience in a similar role, with a focus on sheet metal.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Sound knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and drafting practices.

Remuneration:
Negotiable salary based on experience (R30, 000 - R35,000 per month)
