Competitor Monitor is a UK-based e-commerce intelligence company helping leading brands and retail chains manage pricing, maintain customer loyalty, and monitor online reputation. Our global team uses data analytics to monitor millions of data points daily, delivering actionable insights through our intelligent software platform.
The Role
As a Technical Account Manager, you'll be the technical partner for our global clients (mainly within the UK, Europe, USA), helping them leverage our competitor intelligence platform to drive data-informed business decisions. This role combines technical consulting, data analysis support, and account management - ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and translating complex data into business value.
You'll work remotely to configure client platforms, analyse data outputs, troubleshoot technical issues, and help clients build effective pricing and competitive strategies using our analytics tools.
Key Responsibilities
Onboard new customers with technical platform configuration and setup
Train users on advanced platform features, data exports, and API integrations
Analyse client data requirements and configure custom reports and dashboards
Conduct technical product demonstrations and reviews via screen sharing
Troubleshoot data discrepancies, platform issues, and integration challenges
Monitor automated daily reports and respond to data-related enquiries
Coordinate with development and technical support teams to deliver solutions
Provide consultative support on interpreting and acting on competitive intelligence data
Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular online meetings
Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and increased platform adoption
Essential Requirements
Technical Skills:
Strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
Comfortable working with data: understanding spreadsheets, basic database concepts, and data analysis
Understanding of APIs, web technologies, and how online platforms work
Confident troubleshooting technical issues and explaining technical concepts clearly
Proficient with collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365/Teams)
Ability to learn technical systems quickly and independently
Experience & Knowledge:
Interest in data, analytics, and business intelligence
Comfortable presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to analyse client requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Practical Requirements:
Fast, stable home internet connection (essential for remote work)
Available to work 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day during UK business hours
Strong education/training record (we value diverse backgrounds)
Desirable Skills
Experience with or willingness to learn SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Technology, or related field
Previous experience with SaaS platforms or business intelligence tools
Exposure to SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools
Understanding of web scraping, data collection, or ETL processes
Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
Background in technical support, solutions engineering, or technical account management
Knowledge of pricing strategies or retail analytics
Experience with automated data collection systems
Understanding of e-commerce platforms and online retail operations
