Our client has an EE opportunity available for a Sustainable Human Settlements Specialist based in Pretoria.

Requirements:

Appropriate postgraduate university qualification or other tertiary qualification.
Valid code 08 driver's license.
Have your own vehicle.
Willing to work extended hours and travel when required.
5 years' experience in local government.
Experience in policy and legislative drafting and government.
Experience in data collection, analysis, monitoring and evaluation.
Knowledgeable in energy and electricity distribution policy discourse, facilitation, training and research.
Good knowledge of the local government sector.
Good knowledge of the housing and sustainable human settlements sector.
Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

Guide, support and provide expert advice to municipalities in the area of sustainable human settlements.
Provide support towards development and training in the areas of sustainable human settlements.
Conduct analysis on municipalities and provide guidance in respect of implementation improvement.
Develop guidelines to assist municipalities in complying with applicable legislation and policies.
Represent local government in the development of national and even global policy and legislation in the areas of sustainable human settlements.
Be an expert resource around sustainable human settlements to the Portfolio Head.
