The Supply Planning Manager ensures that activities flowing from the Demand Planning process enable demand fulfilment to be met through the Supply Planning process that has manufacturing requirements related to planned maintenance, capital projects and research and development built into it. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Materials function (Materials planning & warehousing) is well executed.

Planning Management
Manages Scheduling and Material Supply teams to ensure effective department organisation and performance.
Executes and manages the process for preparing production schedules, materials procurement plans, receiving storage and supply of materials to manufacturing.
Prepares, communicates and reviews forward plans with the Supply Chain Plant management team.
Monitors and reports on performance against plans to drive improvement.
Ensure on-pack and promotions changes in line with market needs, minimising materials and wastage loss.
Plans stock-builds where required to support in-market activities.

Has regular meetings with Demand Planning & Customer Services Managers to ensure forecasts are met.
Develops personnel to maximise their professional and personal potential consistent with Company needs.
Co-ordinates and participates in all projects and activities impacting on production plans e.g. special promotions, product or pack changes, new product launches, equipment modification or replacement.
Participates as a key member of the IBP leadership team.
Ensures that plans take account of plant needs and keep managers aware of Supply Chain developments.
Drives understanding of the importance of schedule adherence and cyclicity reduction to Supply Chain performance.
Ensures quality of activities and output of scheduling and material supply departments within the plant.
Drives continuous improvement of department's practices and procedures.
Develops the most production and cost effective batch cycle planning to support improvement in plant productivity.

EDUCATION & RELEVANT YEARS JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE
A recognised professional qualification that enables Planning/Scheduling, coupled with a minimum of 5 years experience in production planning in a FMCG environment, of which at least 2 years should be at an entry management level.
