Our client, a renowned leader in the National pharmaceutical industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Supply Chain Manager to be based in Cape Town.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

To manage their warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and procurement functions, ensuring adherence to Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) standards, ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products throughout their supply chain.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At minimum a bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• At least years` proven experience in supply chain management, with a focus on warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Solid knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and processes, including inventory planning, demand forecasting, and procurement strategies, with a strong understanding of Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
• Experience with the SAGE Evolution ERP system or similar supply chain management software.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP), with a specific focus on GWP compliance.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and analyse key supply chain metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to drive operational excellence.
• Manage and lead a team responsible for warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP), throughout the supply chain.
• Develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance, while maintaining compliance with Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) standards.

SUMMARY OF KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5 years` proven experience in supply chain management, with a focus on warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management and procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
