Job Description

Job Purpose




The Department of Local Government Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide efficient and effective supply chain management within the department.

Minimum Requirements




Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Recommendation




None.

Key Performance Areas




Provide an efficient and effective Bid administration support; Provide efficient and effective Electronic Procurement Solution (EPS) support; Render contract management support; Render logistical support.

Competencies




A good understanding of the following: Supply chain management duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collect statistics; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Work procedures in terms of the working environment; Public Service financial legislations, processes and procedures, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions; Basic operating systems such as LOGIS, EPS or similar systems. Skills in the following: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Communication skills (written and verbal); Interpersonal relations; Flexibility; Accuracy; Planning and organising; Numeracy skills; Problem Solving; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration




R 228 321- R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)



Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
