Job Description


The Appointee should:

  • Be in possession of a National Diploma in Security Risk Management or a Law Enforcement qualification
  • Have at least 5 years' experience in research and strategic crime analysis patterns and trends
  • Have proven computer proficiency in MS Office and in relevant analytical crime data bases applicationsand software
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in English both verbally and in writing including report writing
  • Be an assertive goal orientated self-starter with good interpersonal organizational and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work independently and pay attention to detail and to participate in a team
  • Be in possession of a valid driver's license
  • Successfully undergo a screening and verification process, as well as credit and criminal record checks, and other assessment
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse all information focusing on priority crimes, product & copper theft and other crime threats against the company
  • Review and peruse all available databases in order to compile crime trend reporting
  • Optimally review and peruse all available databases in order to compile comprehensive profiles of individuals involved with threats against the company
  • Utilise new strategies & methods in order to identify syndicates involve with priority crimes, theft of product and copper and/or other crime threats
  • Produces and analyses intelligence reports on criminal activity, threats, and vulnerabilities
  • Researches, analyses, evaluates, and correlates criminal intelligence information to determine source reliability, accuracy, and integrity; develop investigative leads and links; and distinguish patterns and trends
  • Collects and compiles criminal intelligence information and statistics to generate intelligence data for support in investigations through personal contact, reading, and documentation of various intelligence, analytical, and administrative information
  • Serves as a liaison with internal and external groups and individuals to provide analytical assistance, collect and disseminate intelligence data, and share resources
  • Enters data, reports, or records of criminal intelligence information into a database for use and reference by analysts and investigators in support of investigations
  • Assists in the coordination of major case investigations to ensure accountability, quality control, and timely completion of projects and cases
  • Assists in the design, testing, and/or maintenance of operational databases, analytical software, hardware, and peripheral equipment
  • Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes
