Job Description


CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of the job is to direct and oversee the universitys safety and security division by administering and maintaining policies to assure the safety of property, assets, and people in all university campuses.

In addition, the job incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
  • Be familiar with the changing socio-political landscape as it pertains to the tertiary education sector.
  • Sound knowledge of human security and physical security/asset protection methodologies and implementation strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant legislation governing safety and security.
  • Knowledge of investigation protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of use of technology in the provision of security services.
  • Practical Project Management Skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant M+4 Qualification preferably in Security/Law Enforcement/ Risk management /Crime prevention/ legal and regulatory compliance or related fields
  • Post graduate diploma in management will be advantageous
  • Driving License
  • Provide criminal clearance certificate or Undergo Criminal Clearance within six months after appointment.
  • SHEQ and PSIRA Grade A will be advantageous
  • 6-10 Years relevant and / or working experience in security, investigations, or related field.
  • 5- 7 years experience in a management role.
