Job Description
The Stores Manager will be responsible for the overall daily operations of the Stores and Dispatch Department. They will be responsible for receiving, handling and packing goods. A degree of physical fitness is generally required to work as a Storeperson, as it is a job that requires lifting and coordination.
Their managerial responsibilities will be:
Managing and overseeing the department operations, developing a routine for opening and closing, ensuring efficient functioning of the stores and dispatch areas; Managing and overseeing their department's training, assigning responsibilities, and setting criteria for staff, and ensuring health and safety compliance; Controlling inventory to ensure sufficient stock, daily and weekly counts.
Their storeman responsibilities will be:
Unloading goods; Receiving and scanning goods and checking against orders; Inspecting for damage; Stocking shelves and stacking heavy goods safely; Packing and sending orders to customers; Moving heavy pallets and goods using a forklift.
Requirements:
Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate; 3+ years of Stores Managerial experience; Driver's License and/or Forklift License (required); Occasional opening and closing the Factory; Occasional overtime (including Saturdays); Ability to commute/own.
