Job Description


Role purpose

Manage mobile network voice and data performance, plan and integrate new mobile base station sites into the mobile network, optimise the quality of the coverage provided by existing mobile base station sites, and resolve queries logged by mobile customers.

Your responsibilities will include

Execute all Radio Network Planning related activities, compile motivations for new base station sites, and design RF solutions to provide indoor coverage.
Conduct verification testing and performance optimisation across all technologies (i.e., 2G/3G/4G/5G) of new base station sites introduced into the mobile network.
Optimise the RF footprints of a geographical cluster of base station sites, across all technologies and frequency bands, to achieve best coverage, quality, and capacity.
Manage and resolve all poor mobile coverage and mobile service experience related queries from customers.
Conduct drive tests to capture network performance and customer experience, analyse sub-optimal performance experienced during drive testing, implement interventions to improve the network performance, and re-conduct drive tests to verify whether improvement has been achieved.

The ideal candidate for this role will have

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

3 year Degree or National Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Telecommunications courses (2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G fundamentals) essential
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant GSM, UMTS, and LTE experience (as well as a minimum of 1 year of relevant NR experience) is essential

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Computer applications (i.e., MS Office Suite and MS Teams)
Mobile Network Planning, Analysis and Call Tracing tools (i.e., Atoll, Sonar, Actix, and Netscout)
Knowledge of mobile technology standards (i.e., GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR)
Knowledge of Huawei radio equipment, the Huawei U2020 network management system, radio features, and radio parameters
Use of mobile network test equipment (i.e., Azenqos)
