Job Description


Role purpose:

To support business and drive growth and profitability through advanced analytics and insights
To monitor product performance, and support product development and product enhancements through advanced analytics and insights
To highlight process inefficiencies through advanced analytics and insights
To make data driven adjustments through monitoring and driving insight that enable models that improve risk and create efficiencies
To ensure reporting processes are optimised, through scripting and automation
To partner with Big Data and IT in the customer 360 data models and analytic tools

Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Reporting & Capital Management
Monthly and annual liability valuations are required across the life and non-life portfolios, including typical IBNR and DCF techniques for the valuation of actuarial liabilities under IFRS 17. Monthly and annual regulatory reporting and board reporting. The candidate will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of all valuation models in the valuation software.
Product Development
The candidate will assist with pricing and product development of all life and non-life products in a competitive, profitable and sustainable manner, working closely with Vodacom's chosen partners. Regular competitor analysis is required to ensure products remain competitive.
Data Analytics and Experience Investigations
Detailed analytics at customer, channel and product level is required to drive performance, product development, to prioritize strategic roadmap (developments), and to serve as an input in valuation assumption setting.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematical Sciences or related field
Comfortable working with Agile as part of a high-performance diverse team across three geographies
Expertise in SQL skills including experience querying large, complex data sets
Skillset: R, Python, SQL

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability
Experience of working on data modelling projects
2-4 years-experience required
Experience in working in visualisation tools like Qlik Sense or PowerBI
Experience of working with and presenting to stakeholders with excellent oral and written communication skills
Capable of working under pressure, with stakeholders across many disciplines
