Job Description

As Sous Chef , you will be second-in-command in the villa kitchen, overseeing day-to-day operations, supervising junior chefs, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet the highest standards. You will assist with menu development, costing, stock management, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.



This role also requires a hands-on approach in preparing and cooking dishes, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with other departments to deliver seamless dining experiences for guests. Previous lodge experience is a must, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment is essential.



The Sous Chef will also be responsible for training, supervising daily service, and ensuring consistent excellence across both hot and pastry sections.



Compensation:



Salary:

R18,000 - R20,000 + R780 food allowance



Work cycle:

6 weeks on, 2 weeks off



Accommodation and meals provided



Minimum 5 years' professional kitchen experience, with proven leadership



Previous luxury lodge experience essential



Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification



Knowledge of dietary requirements and food trends



Strong organisational and time-management skills



Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills



HACCP and food safety compliance knowledge



Valid driver's licence



Between 5 - 7 Years
