Sous Chef - Luxury Game Reserve | Hoedspruit
Salary: R23,000 - R26,000 (Negotiable DOE) | Live-In
Location: Hoedspruit, Limpopo
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef for a luxury game reserve located in the Hoedspruit area. This live-in position is ideal for a passionate culinary professional looking to work in a world-class bush environment while delivering exceptional guest dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
Maintain high culinary standards in food preparation and presentation
Support with menu planning, costing, and implementation
Ensure proper stock control, storage, and rotation practices
Oversee kitchen hygiene and maintain health and safety standards
Train and guide junior kitchen staff as required
Assist with staff rostering and kitchen administration
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Contribute creatively to seasonal and special menus
Key Requirements:
Formal culinary training and relevant qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar Sous Chef role, preferably in a luxury lodge or fine dining environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage and motivate a small team under pressure
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
Passion for using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
Willingness to work in a remote bush location on a live-in basis
