Purpose Wexe2x80x99re looking for a Solutions Architect to join one of our clients (one of the largest petroleum retail companies in the United States) product team. The Solutions Architect will evaluate and balance the project-specific needs against overall organisational goals for stable and predictable cross-platform operations while adhering to established infrastructure, change management, and security standards and guidelines. The Solutions Architect is further tasked to collaborate with representatives from the appropriate teams to identify, evaluate, and facilitate any problem-solving needed to support the required business needs. Tasks include: Architecture design

• Identify end-to-end technical solutions based on business needs that utilize a service-based architecture.
• Architect solutions that compose an overall solution that's flexible, scalable, performant, and provides excellent user experience.
• Accountable for implementation of cross-functional solution architecture of all technologies in the pertinent technology stack.
• Ensures technologies are optimized, recommends investments and rationalization and if necessary, conducts technology assessment and selection.
• Supports and defines optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
  
  Consultation
• Ensures delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
• Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
  Provides technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue or solutioning for a new functionality.
• Ensures delivered solutions are realized in a time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk.
• Provides support and technical governance expertise related to architectures, deployment, and operations.
• Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
  
  Thought Leadership
• Provides industry best practice thought leadership to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions, solving complex business requirements.
• Proactively considers the future state of the organization and how technology can support these efforts.
• Advocates and defines cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
• Maintains industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
• Conducts product work reviews with team members.

Essential Skills, Attributes & Qualifications

• • 10+ years' experience in IT Delivery, including a minimum of 2+ years' experience in architecture.
    
  • 4+ years' experience in solution design.
    
  • 4+ years' experience as a Solutions Architect.
    
  • Experience must be in designing end-to-end and full stack.
    
  • End-to-end - able to design a solution, which includes all components, ensuring that all end users are services correctly in production.
    
  • Full stack: able to design for each component within the solution addressing the functional (application), non-functional (platform), and infrastructure and cloud services.
    
  • Knowledgeable in system architecture (technical design and implementation processes) systems analysis and design.
    
  • Knowledge of Agile systems development processes (CI/CD standards and agile delivery methods).
    
  • A solid understanding of modern software development environments, component-based and Service-oriented Architecture.
