Role purpose

To support the Adoption of continuously evolving digital architecture for Vodacom IT business unit.
To provide architectural guidelines and ensure that architecture principles are adhered to in the development of solutions for Vodacom. To analyse and refine requirements for delivering the necessary technology service to business and serve as liaison to the business community.

Your responsibilities will include

To perform systems analysis and design activities by assessing requirements in terms of feasibility, impact, and cost, thereby assisting to create and compile accurate user requirement documents.
Apply expertise in Machine Learning, Predictive Modelling, Data Engineering, MLOps to deliver impactful, objective, and actionable solutions that enable business decisions.
To provide a high-level solution design (HLD)/ Cloud Based Solution Blueprint document in response to business requirements.
Creating and managing data architectures and machine learning models
Creation and implementation of Machine Learning / Deep Learning algorithms
Collecting business requirements and planning the tasks of the Data Science team working at Agile / Scrum
To act as a technical liaison between business and the technical teams and to ensure the required support from all areas to ensure delivery of quality solutions.
Evaluate technical alternatives to identify suitable cost-conscious solutions that address the business needs and requirements.
Provide solution architectures that support the strategic direction of the business.
Motivate and provide support for proposed architectures by clearly stating all considerations and arguments for the preferred solutions;
Ensure technical architectures and solutions are aligned with the Data Intelligence principles and Golden Rules

The ideal candidate for this role will have

Technical / Professional Qualifications:
3 Year Degree / equivalent Diploma /equivalent Certificate in Information Technology / Business / Project Management (essential), and
5 - 8 Years systems analysis and design experience preferably in a highly complex environment (essential)
OR,
Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent (essential), and
8 - 10 Years systems analysis and design experience preferably in a highly complex environment (essential)

Job knowledge:
Digital Channels Frameworks (i.e. React Framework, Progressive Web Application and Next.JS)
Integration Architecture Patterns such as API Management, File Driven Management, Orchestration, and choreography patterns and Extract Transform and Load.
Microservices Architecture Patterns and Event Driven Architecture Pattern.
Solutions Architecture, systems analysis, and design
Proficient in architecting for Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, and or GCP).
Knowledge in Machine Learning and data insight.
knowledge of big data technologies and data ingestion capabilities.
