Manager: Gender and Womens Economic Empowerment Specialist

The purpose of the Gender and Womens Economic Empowerment Specialist position is to provide strategic support to design and implement youth, gender, and womens empowerment activities in the Foundation

Responsibilities include: * Lead the Gender Responsive Budget Initiative of the Foundation;

  • Integrate youth and gender analysis and propose additional or alternative measures of youth and gender-related outcomes and impact for all work;
  • Ensuring that the Foundation applies gender policies, frameworks, and best practices in all its project activities;
  • Training staff on youth and gender considerations and womens economic empowerment and providing ongoing support;
  • Supporting projects monitoring and evaluation to ensure they are youth-responsive, gender-responsive and includes indicators aimed at capturing the projects youth, gender and womens empowerment related outputs and outcomes;
  • Working with other projects and partners to ensure that successful activities and methodologies for youth and womens economic empowerment are well-documented and disseminated;
  • Overseeing baseline and endline assessments for youth and womens empowerment indicators in the Foundation project communities using the project-level Womens Empowerment tools;
  • Reviewing existing materials/ policies and suggest revisions or develop new stand-alone materials/ policies and discuss with Human Resource Management and staff;
  • Staying up-to-date on existing and new youth and gender integration and womens economic empowerment tools as well as best practices being developed and used by NGOs and other stakeholders, and identifying those which might be incorporated into the Foundation programs;
  • Carrying out other appropriate activities that will contribute to project success, as requested by the CEO.
