Job Description
PSIRA Grade A Security Officer - Requirements and Criteria
Minimum Requirements:
Valid PSIRA Grade A Registration Certificate
South African ID
Clear criminal record
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory or management security role
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
Proven leadership and managerial skills
Own reliable vehicle with a valid driver's license
Key Competencies:
Ability to manage and supervise a security team effectively
Strong knowledge of security procedures and protocols
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Competence in handling incident investigations and risk assessments
Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Private Security Industry Regulation Act
Additional Criteria (Preferred):
Computer literacy (MS Office, email, incident reporting systems)
Control room experience
Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Professional appearance and conduct
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
