We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Foreman to supervise, coordinate and manage civil works on site. The successful candidate will oversee teams, contractors and activities related to earthworks, concrete works, structural works, roads, stormwater, and general infrastructure. Strong leadership, technical understanding and safety management are critical for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily civil engineering activities on site.
Manage teams performing earthworks, concrete works, formwork, rebar, foundations, plinths, drainage, roads and structural works.
Ensure work is completed safely, on time and according to drawings, specifications and SANS/SABS standards.
Interpret civil engineering drawings, construction details, levels and site layout plans.
Conduct site inspections, quality checks and progress monitoring.
Plan daily, weekly and monthly activities with site teams and contractors.
Manage resources including labour, materials, plant and equipment.
Enforce SHEQ compliance, toolbox talks, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
Coordinate with engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers and other stakeholders.
Prepare daily site diaries, progress reports and update job cards.
Assist with setting out, levelling and survey tasks.
Support project handover documentation and snag list completion.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) + Civil Engineering qualification (N6 / Diploma / Trade Certificate highly beneficial).
5+ years experience as a Civil Foreman in construction, mining or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of civil works including concrete structures, earthworks, roads and stormwater.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, reinforce schedules, specifications and construction details.
Proven experience in supervising operational teams.
Valid driver's licence.
Medically fit for site work.
