R35 000 - R30 000 NEG



Leading construction company based in Caledon in need of a Site Foreman with a minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience within this industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all activities on site, overseeing operations of the whole site on a day-to-day basis and that projects come in on time and within budget. Manage and lead the site construction team and the subcontractors during the construction stage of the project.

You will be responsible for:

Project Planning and Coordination:



Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time

Coordinate work schedules with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers

Ensure the project aligns with the client's requirements and specifications

Health and Safety:



Enforce safety regulations and standards on-site to ensure a safe working environment

Conduct regular site safety inspections and implement corrective measures when needed

Monitor and manage the use of protective equipment and ensure workers follow safety protocols

Team Management:



Supervise construction workers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring work is performed to required standards

Conduct team meetings to address progress, issues, and any required adjustments

Motivate and support workers, providing guidance to resolve challenges

Quality Control:



Ensure that the construction work is completed to the required standards and specifications

Conduct regular inspections to monitor the quality of materials and workmanship

Manage any defects or quality issues, ensuring corrections are made promptly

Budget and Cost Management:



Monitor the project budget, ensuring expenses are kept within limits

Handle procurement and ordering of materials, ensuring cost-effective sourcing

Approve and track costs for labor, materials, and any subcontractor work

Progress Reporting:



Provide regular updates to project managers or clients about the progress of the project

Report any issues that could affect timelines, quality, or safety

Maintain accurate records of site activities, including inspections, deliveries, and meeting notes

Site Logistics:



Oversee the delivery and storage of materials on-site

Ensure that the site is well-organized and equipment is in good working condition

Manage waste disposal, ensuring it is done responsibly and in line with environmental regulations

Problem-Solving:



Resolve any on-site disputes or problems between workers, subcontractors, or suppliers

Address unexpected issues such as delays, shortages, or unforeseen technical challenges

Environmental Compliance:



Ensure that the construction process complies with environmental laws and regulations

Minimize the environmental impact of the site, including waste management and energy efficiency

Final Inspections and Handover:



Ensure that the completed project meets all specifications and is ready for handover

Coordinate final inspections with clients or regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with building codes and standards

Educational Requirements:



National Diploma / B.Tech (Construction Management / Civil Engineering)

Certifications (will be adv):

Project Management Institute (PMI) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will be adv

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate or similar will be adv

First Aid

Minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience with construction processes, project management and safety regulations or 10 - 15 years hands on experience within the construction industry (no qualification)

Project Management experience - managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling and overseeing workers, is essential

Computer Literate: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Own vehicle a def must

Well spoken in Afrikaans and English

Skills:



Strong leadership and team management skills

In-depth knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and safety protocols

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English)

A proactive problem solver with attention to detail
