Shift Charge Engineer - South AfricaFull job descriptionRequisition ID: 15808Location: ZAMain Responsibilities include:Operate the plant in an efficiant manner following the Operation Procedures to satisfy safety, environmental, technical capability of the plant, National Transmission company protocols and standards, the codes, the Law.Ensure all activities carried-out in the Plant are executed according to Company's SHEQ procedures, standards and specifications.Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of all Operations personnel on shiftIn each Shift, organize and coordinate resources and tasks to ensure the plant operation in accordance to the load dispatch requirements and weather forecast.Daily, reach the scheduled output.Timely response on any plant operational problem and perform DSTI for each.Ensuring all operation activities are performed in compliance with laws and regulation.Manage Work Permits, and shut down the equipment through LOTO procedureKeep updated guidelines and procedures.Perform required technical training to enhance the professional skills of the Operations team.Perform cleaning strategies to keep reflectivity of Solar Field according O&M agreement.Directly supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the operating personnel reporting to him/her.At the end of each Shift, conduct regular meetings with subordinates to discuss maintenance work progress, schedules problems, interferences, priorities, near misses, etc.Recommend to the Operations Manager changes in methods, schedules and procedures needed to meet specific exigencies of the plant operations.Daily, perform the information system, which provides sufficient data to ensure that operations are being accomplished within specified limits, schedules and technical parameters.Ensure and advise on proper and effective allocation and development of human resources to ensure maximum efficiency. Submit periodic reports to Operations Manager and keep him/her informed regarding all matters relating to plant operations.Organise emergency response and evacuation.Qualification & experienceNational Deploma/ Degree in Engineering or production Management.Valid driver's license.+/- 4 Years of experience of Power Generation or Continuous process plants.Basic Computer literacy is required.Authorisation in Safety Rules (Acceptor, Designated person, issuer Safety Controller) will serve as a recommendation.Being declared competent in CRO, WTP, PPO and SF will serve as an added advantage.Behavioral SkillsStrictly adhere, promote and ensure the enforcement of HSE rules and practices.Fully familiar with Work Permit system and with the Plant hazards as well as emergency scenerios.Safe and continuous operations of Plant.Improvement of Plant operations by identifying opportunities and making constructive suggestions.Good team spirit with colleagues and other department employees.Highly proactive and self-motivated.RemunerationThe compensation will be market related.Closing date 10 November 2023Business Unit: GBU RenewablesDivision: REN AMEA - South AfricaLegal Entity: Kathu Operations Proprietary LimitedContract Type: PermanentJob Type: Full - TimeProfessional Experience: Skilled ( >3 experience
