Job Description
Our client in the mining sector, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill
three Shift Boss positions
at underground coal mining operations in Sigma and Secunda. These roles offer an excellent opportunity for mining professionals with strong leadership skills, safety awareness, and operational knowledge to contribute to a high-performance team.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily underground operations and lead production teams effectively Ensure compliance with the
Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
and carry legal accountability under2.15.1 appointment
Conduct thoroughdaily underground inspections
and enforce SHE standards Drive productivity while maintaining cost-effective operations Provide coaching, mentorship, and on-the-job training to crews Ensure discipline, safety compliance, and operational excellence within your section Overseebelt installation
andseal construction
Prepare and submit accurateproduction and safety reports
Manage ordering of materials and obtain quotes for new projects Report directly to the Operational ManagerMinimum Requirements:
Minimum of
2 years' experience as a Shift Boss
in underground coal mining(or 5 years' experience as a Miner in underground coal environment)
Valid
Underground Coal Blasting Certificate
ValidDriver's License
Appointment-ready forMHSA 2.15.1 legal responsibility
ValidGas Testing Certificate
(8 gases) ValidFirst Aid Certificate
Demonstrated experience inbelt and seal construction
Key Competencies:
Strong

and communication skills Proficient inMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proven ability tomotivate and manage teams
