Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Policy Development & Implementation:

  • Create and maintain SHEQ policies and comprehensive management systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure the facility adheres to all local, national, and international Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) laws and standards.
Risk Management:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate potential risks, and implement appropriate controls and preventive measures.
Incident Management:
  • Lead thorough investigations into incidents, performing root cause analyses and developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
Auditing and Inspections:
  • Plan and oversee both internal and external SHEQ audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Cultural Promotion:
  • Foster and embed a strong culture of safety, health, and quality among all employees and departments.
Training and Guidance:
  • Provide necessary SHEQ-related training and ongoing guidance to employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Track and report on key SHEQ performance indicators (KPIs) and progress towards objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and implement initiatives to drive ongoing improvement in SHEQ performance.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, training, and other SHEQ-related activities.
Typical Qualifications
  • A relevant national diploma or degree in a field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or Food Technology.
  • Significant experience (often 5+ years) in a SHEQ or Quality Assurance role, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems like FSSC 22000 and relevant ISO standards.
  • Proven experience with audit preparation and management
