Introduction




The SETA Funding Officer at the UKZN Foundation will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all applications for SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) funding across the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).

This role will involve identifying and disseminating SETA funding opportunities, together with the appropriate Donor Relationship Manager, and solicit buyin and collaboration with matching Colleges, Schools and other University divisions to ensure maximum participation. The SETA Funding Officer will then initiate, drive participation in and see to the timely finality of the funding application process to secure SETA grants that are aligned to and support the UKZN's strategic goals.
Key Responsibility Areas of the job include Funding Opportunity Identification; Application Coordination and Support; Stakeholder Operations; Process Optimisation and Reporting; and Strategic Planning.
The SETA Funding Officer will report directly to the Executive Director of the UKZN Foundation and work closely with internal stakeholders, including academic and administrative staff, to align SETA funding opportunities with the university's educational, research and development objectives.

Minimum requirements




A relevant three-year degree in Business Administration, Education, Project Management or a related field. At least (3) three years of experience in grant management, funding coordination, or a related role, preferably within the higher education , NPO or public sector.

Knowledge of:

In-depth knowledge of the South African SETA framework, funding mechanisms, and grant application processes. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant management software or databases.
