Requirements
Relevant Technical Tertiary Qualification preferably a
National Diploma in Geomatics. This includes National
diploma or equivalent in Geomatics / Geographic Information
Systems / Land Surveying / Cartography or Electrical
Engineering.
Relevant GIS courses
A minimum of 2 - 5 years relevant post qualifying experience
Extensive experience in the recording and capture of electricity
distribution systems.
Good interpersonal skills.
Computer Literacy
Valid Code B driver's license.
Special conditions may include:
Required to work in all weather conditions. Required to work outside normal working hours as demanded
by the exigencies of the service.
Required to use own transport for which an appropriate
transport allowance will be payable.
Key Performance Areas
Conduct detailed field recording and remote sensing of
as-built electrical infrastructure by inspecting high, medium,
and low voltage construction sites, capturing accurate data
using measurements and GPS, locating above-ground cables,
and reporting deviations from approved designs.
Collaborate with contractors and project teams through site
meetings, liaison, and verification activities to ensure accurate
records of electrical assets are maintained for planning and
operational support.
Capture, maintain, and manage electrical infrastructure data
by recording detailed as-built information for high, medium,
and low voltage systems, including cable routes,
substations,overhead lines, and protection drawings.
Process and manipulate externally sourced data by cleaning,
transforming, classifying, and integrating spatial and attribute
information to ensure accurate incorporation into existing
