Job description:

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Group Manager, Information Security, this role is designed to provide subject matter expertise in the execution of OT/ICS Security workshops, risk assessments and remediation engagements for mine sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Designs to ensure design integrity for Automation, Control and Mining Operations OT Security
• Provide OT/ICS Security Subject Matter Expertise for site projects, programs and incidents
• Perform Risk Assessments across the OT/ICS environments to identify gaps and opportunities, helping support the functions growth and investment objectives
• Development and delivery of OT/ICS security proposals and scope of work documents
• Conducting security/risk reviews and assessments of Mine Site Operational Technology
• Act as trusted advisor on enhancements to, and develop strategies, roadmaps and new operating models for the mines to help improve and maintain security posture
• Provision of high-quality, fit for purpose OT/ICS security capabilities and processes through research, architecture, design, implementation, operation and monitoring
• OT/ICS Security Policy creation and management
• Promotion of OT/ICS security capabilities to further control deployment and efficacy
• Contribute to the IT security roadmap and planning thereof
• Promote and Evangelise OT/ICS Security best practise within the team and wider community
• Maintain up to date knowledge of security threats, counter measures and vendor capabilities
• Deliver capabilities aligned to FIRST QUANTUM's Information Security Standards
• Support the development of security maturity across the organisation.

Qualifications Required:

• A graduate qualification in Information Security, Computer Science, or Engineering is highly regarded as well as additional current security certifications.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum 8 years working with OT/ICS security
• Detailed technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, SIS, SCADA, HMI and OT Networking and the securing of these technologies
• Experience in architecting and assessing fit for purpose OT/ICS security systems/capabilities
• Hands on experience of OT/ICS security systems, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, anti-virus, vulnerability, authentication systems and monitoring/log management
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and frameworks
• Experience with IR frameworks and developing, documenting and delivering playbooks as regards OT/ICS
• Proficiency with documenting design, technical decisions and recommendations
• Ability to operate in a global, matrixed enterprise environment

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to an audience of senior management as well as other stakeholders

Other Requirements:

• Travel to sites as and when required (50% initially, reducing to 25% within 6 months)
• Role to be located in South Africa, supporting travel requirement to FQML Mine Sites.
