• To lead on Legal aspects of Public Health research related to NCD prevention

Division:

• Priceless SA

Location:

• The School of Public Health, Parktown, Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

• Identify novel research methods and ideas
• Attract research funding by identifying and applying for research grants in line with the PRICELESS research strategy
• Publish research in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, reports and present findings to stakeholders, the PRICELESS team, and other groups including the media
• Manage research projects from inception to completion
• Manage and mentor junior researchers
• Supervise students (Masters)
• Uphold the values of PRICELESS

Required minimum education and training:

• Master of Laws (LLM) Degree

Required minimum work experience:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in a research environment

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• Expertise in constitutional law
• Expertise in administrative law
• Experience in grant writing
• Interest in health and equity in South Africa
• Experience in research methodologies
• Published articles in peer-reviewed journals
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Good conceptualization skills
• Experience in teaching
• Attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to taking on several duties
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
