Job Description

Our client, a leading firm in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced and accredited Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their project-based team. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to a dynamic environment, ensuring maximum profitability on projects through proactive commercial acumen. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the financial success of multiple projects, with functional reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager and direct reporting to the Operations Director/Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities Include:

• Leading a team or project commercial department.
• Performing budget validations and detailed project cost forecasts in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Preparing and updating cash flows, analysing timing of sales and costs.
• Carrying out monthly site measures and preparing interim evaluations.
• Monitoring site progress to ensure timely submission and agreement of claims for loss and expense.
• Identifying risks and opportunities for projects and the company.
• Monitoring, mentoring, and developing junior employees.

Liaising with Project and Contractor Teams to ensure consistent project costs/plans.
Pre-requisite Education & Experience:

• Professional qualification/degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Attained PrQS or MRICS accreditation (or eligible to attain within 12 months).
• Minimum of 15 years' industry experience, preferably with contractor experience in the Renewable Energy sector.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing multiple projects.
• Extensive Civil, Mechanical, Structural Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation experience.
• Proven experience in conflict avoidance, entitlement appraisal, and dispute resolution.
• Conversant with contract law and commercial/contracts management.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team player.
