Job Description

Our client, an early-stage developer of renewable energy projects dedicated to driving the clean energy transition, is seeking an experienced Project Developer to join their team and play a pivotal role in building their project portfolio from the ground up. In this role, you will be a key driver in the full project development life-cycle and oversee a portfolio of early and mid-stage projects while personally managing several key late-stage projects through to financial close with limited oversight. This is a hands-on role for a strategic and results-oriented professional who will also take on a mentor role for junior team members
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of projects, from initial stages through to late-stage development and financial close.
• Lead site selection and all permitting tasks, providing direct support to land acquisition.
• Head up key commercial negotiations and contribute to the preparation of critical agreements.
• Take responsibility for preparing and managing project budgets and assisting with financial modelling inputs.
• Oversee risk management across all projects, ensuring proactive mitigation and timely reporting to leadership.
• Supervise and guide junior team members, providing training, quality assurance, and overall project delivery guidance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or similar.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in renewable energy project development, with a proven track record of successfully bringing utility-scale projects to financial close.
• An understanding of project finance, financial modelling, and legal agreements.
• Proficiency in project management and design software like MS Project, AutoCAD, PVSyst, or similar.
