  • Duties and functions incorporate acting as project leader, supervising and delivering all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion, including, inter alia:-
  • In conjunction with the project Executive, liaising with the client body and establishing and implementing a clear project brief.
  • Preparation of tender documents, including carrying out and supervising measurement of Quantities.
  • Administration of every aspect of cost control of construction projects in progress.
  • Preparation and settlement of final accounts.
  • Representing the firm at meetings, including at Management level.
  • Working in conjunction with Executives to assist with the management of the office.
  • Being aware of marketing opportunities and where recognised bring to the attention of the Business Development Department, in order that they may follow up potential leads enabling the development of new business Complying with the requirements of the 'Continuing Professional Development System' as administered by the Association of South Africa Quantity Surveyors.
  • Attending and taking part in all in-house training workshops and seminars.
  • Continuing the development of computer literacy and skills.
  • Assisting with the management of the firm's SHE-Q systems, including establishing a full knowledge of the SHE-Q procedures and processes.
Qualifications
  • Honours Degree (Quantity Surveying).
  • Professional Registration with SACQSP.
  • 5 - 10 Years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor post Registration within the built environment.
