Senior Quantity Surveyor - Cape TownAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our prestigious projects.Responsibilities:Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects and assist in setting project budgets. Monitor project costs throughout the development process, identifying potential cost overruns and proposing cost-effective solutions.Quantity Take-offs: Perform detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy in material and labor measurements.Contract Management: Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and terms. Handle variations, claims, and settlement negotiations effectively.Cost Control: Implement robust cost control measures to minimize financial risk and maximize project profitability. Regularly report on cost performance to project stakeholders.Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities without compromising project quality.Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage project cash flows, ensuring adequate funds are available for project needs.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, cost records, and contract documents.Collaborative Approach: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a construction and development environment.Proficiency in Computerized Construction Software (CCS) is essential.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Leadership capabilities, including the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.Proactive and results-oriented approach, with a focus on meeting deadlines and project milestones.Familiarity with local construction regulations and industry best practices.If you are a proactive and skilled Quantity Surveyor looking to contribute your expertise to one of the most prestigious estates in Paarl, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
