A tertiary qualification in either chemical or related is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience having managed key accounts and developed new businesses supplying chemical raw materials into the construction chemical or industrial coatings or adhesive manufacturing industries or related is essential for the role.
Previous experience managing international principles and suppliers is preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Promoting chemical raw materials into the construction chemical and or coatings manufacturing markets maintaining strong relationships with existing key accounts as well as identifying and developing potential business opportunities on a national basis.
Overseeing and managing the distribution agencies for specific products and additives.
Attending regular feedback sessions on various projects and managing customer expectations.
Managing price negotiations and various products with customers relaying market information to management and suppliers in order to be competitive in the current South African economic conditions.
Establishing growth opportunities for new suppliers internationally.
Providing construction chemical chemistry-based technical support to customers.
Resolving issues of quality of orders between suppliers and distributors with customers.
Managing chemical raw material stock portfolio within the construction chemicals and adhesives markets.
Attending various conferences and trade shows nationally and internationally within the construction chemical industries.
Setting and driving budget targets and sales objectives.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
