To develop, maintain, manage and continuously improve Standard Bank's Geospatial Insights (Geospatial Intelligence) and Central Property Distribution Planning capability through both quantitative and qualitative insights, recommendations and model formulation, pertaining to South African products, services and business lines, so that placement analysis, post reviews and geospatial intelligence is leveraged to enable the competitive and strategic advantage for the Bank.

Qualifications:

  • A Degree or Post Graduate Degree in Information Studies.
  • A Degree or Post Graduate Degree in Mathematical Sciences
Experience:
  • Experience in distribution planning and real estate business intelligence, within a banking environment at a senior management level. Advanced Analytics, strategy formulation, market discovery & value extraction, client insights profitability, Predictive modelling experience would be required. Required 5-7 years.
  • Experience in GIS, Geospatial Analytics, Geospatial Thinking, Geospatial Intelligence and the visualisation of collective data that has a geographic component through associated technology. Data sciences, ESRI, Arc GIS, Azure Maps, Google Maps API, Sales Force Maps, machine learning, metaheuristic optimisation, programming experience in R/Python/Java, as well as SQL/HQL and VBA, research and development of new technologies and techniques
Additional Information

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring that key customer insights obtained is validated, compliant with POPIA Act and the Building Regulations Act requirements prior to ingestion into Geo Spatial Visualisation tools to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigation, analysis, optimisation and management of costs related to the outputs provided by outsourced partners in order to ensure sound financial control and to ensure return on investment. Contribute in the setting of the Real Estate Management's technology plan in the context of the relevant (governing) technology plans and the Group IT plan. Provide Geospatial expertise to develop and drive the relevant technological requirements. Adhere to and implement the relevant technology standards developed by the IT Function. Contribute to the definition and maintenance of the Functional Area's data model in adherence to the Group's data security standards. Advise on the collection, capturing and maintenance of Geospatial related data to ensure the data is reliable and therefore will effectively guide critical business decisions.
  • Deliver holistically on all the regulatory and internal reporting requirements. Oversee the production of aggregated and reliable reports (maps) and formulate pertinent observations to enable the effectiveness of critical Geospatial related business decisions and reporting. Determine the functional area's budget for the Geospatial Insights Function within Real Estate Services. Monitor and control expenditure relative to the budget and ensure adherence to sound financial practices.
  • Develop macro- and micro-economic insights of omni channels, segments, and clients in order to provide expert advice and guidance to senior and executive leaders within Standard Bank South Africa. Develop, maintain and continuously improve a Geospatial Insights Framework, covering strategy, policies, processes, procedures, standards, guidelines, training, objectives, metrics and governance, to ensure that best practice and leading-edge Geospatial Insights are continuously leveraged to enable the competitive edge and the strategic advantage of the organisation. Generate strategies and alternative solutions to continuously address changing Geospatial requirements, opportunities and trends.
  • Direct the team with respect to enhanced Geospatial analysis, data analytics and geospatial intelligence. Conceptualise and direct the development of new Geospatial intelligence. Drive full automation of data feeds for visualisation and modelling purposes, including the systemic acquisition, consolidation, validation, and storage of all required datasets. Drive the end-to-end value chain insight creation, via the use of customer insights and use of data internal and external, card payment data etc. in order to develop insights and enable effective decision making.
