Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies specific to the freight and logistics industry, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor and stay abreast of changes in transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
Corporate Governance:
  • Oversee and enhance the corporate governance framework, aligning it with the unique challenges of the logistics sector.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific governance standards and codes.
  • Coordinate board meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure accurate and timely recording of minutes.
Risk Management:
  • Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework tailored to the freight and logistics industry.
  • Collaborate with various business units to assess and address risks associated with transportation, supply chain, and logistics operations.
  • Regularly report on key risk indicators and recommend actions to mitigate risks
Company Secretarial Duties:
  • Serve as the company secretary, managing corporate records and ensuring compliance with industry-specific statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate the organization of meetings, including those with regulatory authorities, and maintain records of these interactions.
  • Manage the annual general meeting (AGM) and other industry-specific shareholder meetings.
Compliance Training and Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs tailored to the unique challenges of the freight and logistics industry.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, safety, and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Regulatory Reporting:
  • Prepare and submit industry-specific regulatory reports and filings accurately and on time.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and industry associations.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of compliance and governance professionals with industry-specific expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and company secretarial roles within the freight and logistics industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific regulations, including but not limited to
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
