JKO Connect is looking for an engineer to work for our customer in Ireland from our office in Cape Town, South Africa. The ideal candidate has over 8 years experience and is a senior engineer who can troubleshoot and work with our highly skilled team.

Our client is an MSP (Managed Service Provider) and their customers are predominantly business owners who are focused on ensuring their day to day operations perform as they should, I.T, networks, systems and cybersecurity are generally not something they have time to consider and that is where we step in. We manage all of the I.T. requirements so that people don't have to worry about whether their data and systems are protected. JKO Connect is growing and we are expanding our service team! JKO Connect has offices CBD Cape Town and is open to considering hybrid working arrangements.

The Role: Senior IT Engineer

Responsibilities

• Providing subject matter expertise to the business and our customers across cloud infrastructure including Azure, AWS, Office 365 and on premises technologies including networking.
• Consult, design, implementation, and support our customers I.T requirements.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders including account managers, project managers and the Service Delivery team to ensure the provision of the highest level of service to our customers with the aim of decreasing cost and increasing efficiency, transparency and security
• Mentoring of our junior engineers in relation to the management, administration, emerging technologies and best practice
• Act as an escalation point for issue resolution
• Install and configure servers and applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve system errors and inefficiencies,

Requirements

• 8 + Yearsxe2x80x99 Experience in a Technical Architect / Senior IT Engineer, IT Infrastructure Engineer, with proven ability in delivering projects
• Excellent all-round IT infrastructure technical knowledge, including infrastructure design and delivery and documentation
• Knowledge of infrastructure industry trends such as Cloud Computing xe2x80x93 IaaS, PaaS and other emerging technologies
• Ability to work on multiple customer sites on a project-by-project basis
• Vendor management and the technical supervision of their services
• Must be an excellent communicator and an effective problem solver with an ability to motivate technical teams
• In-depth technical knowledge of the following:
• Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Group Policy configuration, experience in AD DomainForest migrations, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Hybrid, Experience in Exchange to Office365 Migrations, Azure AD, EMS, Intune knowledge, virtualised environments (VMWare and Hyper-V)
• Experience in Deploying solutions in Microsoft Azure highly desirable
• Experience in configuring Azure ARM templates desirable but not essential
• Windows Server, SAN, clusters
• Load Balancing Hardware, Security technologies such as Firewall (SonicWALL, Fortinet, Azure) and VPN
• Networking - MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routers and Switches (HP, Aruba)
