We are looking for a Senior Electronic Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the design and development of advanced lithium-ion battery systems.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Electronic Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of lithium-ion battery products and components. You will work closely with product owners and other engineers to solve complex engineering challenges and ensure that designs meet high-quality standards. Your role will evolve to include leadership responsibilities, product innovation, and direct involvement in the manufacturing process.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the design and development of lithium-ion battery products and components, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering problems and drive innovative solutions.
Lead the testing, documentation, and iteration of products as they evolve through the development process.
Support the certification process by ensuring that designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the innovation and design of new battery models and technologies.
Lead teams, including fabrication and production staff, to execute prototype builds and production runs.
Manage relationships with suppliers, fabricators, and other external partners to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Create and manage project plans, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Analyze product data, identify trends, and report findings to inform future design improvements.
Develop embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems and participate in applications development.
Create component specifications and collaborate with the originators to validate designs.
Provide mentorship and leadership to junior engineers and support their professional growth.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
BSc or MSc in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience (or 2+ years for MSc candidates).
Proven experience in designing circuit schematics, PCB layout, and working with microcontrollers in embedded systems.
Strong expertise in developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers.
Experience in circuit simulation and analysis tools.
Proficient in testing, troubleshooting, and reporting on electronic systems and products.
Familiarity with energy storage systems and power electronics is highly desirable.
Knowledge of CAN (Controller Area Network) is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise documentation and reports.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.
Additional qualifications or experience in related fields of engineering (such as power electronics or systems engineering) are an advantage.
Desirable Qualities:
A strong commercial understanding, with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
High level of creativity and initiative in tackling engineering challenges.
Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, and ever-changing work environment.
Experience in leadership or mentoring roles is a plus.
