We are an independent international engineering and project management consultancy leading the way in sustainable development and innovation.What you do as a Senior Civil Eng: Waste Water Treatment Detail design of gravity sewerage networks, trunk outfall sewers, pressurised pipelines and pumpstations for conveyance and distribution of wastewater.The detailed design of waste-water treatment works, with a comprehensive understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment processes.Preparation of detailed concept and detail design reports.Proposal preparation, including drafting of technical methodologies and/or approach papers.Undertaking (pre- and detailed-) feasibility studies, applying technical and financial criteria and drafting feasibility study reports.Leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams on complex projects ensuring tasks are distributed to team members and ensuring quality of deliverables by apply Information management principals.Detailed design review and approval of project deliverables using digital workflows and processes this includes 3D models drawings, reports, BOQs, specifications, etc.Using company standard collaboration and coordination tools in line with our Digital Ways of Working.Proactively liaising with project managers and client's representatives, managing expectations and communicating alternatives, deviations and issues encountered during design.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on engineering design and software usage. You will be located in our office in Johannesburg, Gauteng ,South Africa.What you bringQualifivcations and ExperienceB.Eng/B.Sc. Civil Engineering with 12+ years in the relevant fieldProfessional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng) Essential.M.Sc xe2x80x93 Would be advantageous.Proof of training and implementation of ISO19650 standardsDesign focussed with a focus on system oriented thinkingGood understanding of sewer reticulation network and trunk outfall sewer design parameters and hydraulics.Good understanding of outputs from specialized process treatment designs and ability to translate this into detailed construction drawings and specifications for various disciplines.Comprehensive understanding of wastewater treatment works hydraulics for the development of process flow diagrams, hydraulic profiles and input into P&ID diagrams.Ability to work with and apply a wide variety of codes and standards and compile and review project specifications.Leading multi-disciplinary teams on sanitation projects and briefing team members on scope of work and overseeing coordination of design using ISO19650 standards.BIM implementation xe2x80x93 Creating/using BEPs, MIDP and TIDPs with applying CDE principals.Experience in the following software and applications:Experience with hydraulic analysis software doing extended period analysis and EPANET as the backbone of analysis software packages advantages.Experience with using surge analysis software such as KYPipe and/or Bentleyxe2x80x99s OpenFlow HAMMER would be advantageous.Working knowledge of Revit and Civil 3D.Experience in using Devotech iDAS will be advantageousUsing tools such as BIM360, Revizto, and ASite for design coordination and reviewCompetence in using PowerBI or similar packages is advantageous.Scripting, workflow automation and programming is advantageous.Knowledge of GIS packages and integration is advantageousBehavioural CompetenciesAnalytic thinker with flexible approach and strong problem-solving skillsStrong leadership skills, motivated and disciplined with a track record of leading multidisciplinary design teamsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills xe2x80x93 verbal and writtenAbility to pre-empt potential issues that may arise and clear and on-time communication of problems and possible solutions to concerned partiesAttention to detailAn energetic and enthusiastic team player who is prepared to work across Advisory Groups in the CompanyAbility to work independently with limited supervisionActive learning & learning strategiesCreative, pro-active and complex problem solverResults orientated and target driven.Digitally inclined, innovative and future ready thinkingWhat we offer youAt Royal HaskoningDHV, you can expect diversity of projects as we are always at the forefront of new innovative solutions.
