Job Summary

Our client has an opportunity available for an Associate Civil Engineer and Water Specialist based in the Western Cape. This is a Hybrid role ; 2 days in office and 3 days from home or on sites. There is no EE requirement for this role, as long as you are South African. Our client is also open to seeing very experienced candidates.

Requirements:

• Should be able to mentor, monitor timekeeping and carry out performance reviews
• Must have an excellent understanding of project delivery requirements and best practise procedures.
• Must be well versed in project requirements such as H&S, Environmental, Quality Management and Budget Management.
• Must be able to prepare technical designs and specifications related to the water systems field.
• General knowledge of all sectors would be preferred:

• Water and wastewater treatment.
• Bulk water.
• Sanitation pipeline conveyance (pumpstations and pipelines).
• Water and sanitation network design and other associated works.
• Must have a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must have relevant experience in water systems.
• Must be a registered Pr,Eng

Responsibilities:

• Act as a line manager and mentor, monitor timekeeping and carry out performance reviews, providing feedback on allocated technical staff.
• Play an active role in the technical development of the allocated team.
• Act as a Project Manager on medium to large sized multi-disciplinary water projects.
• Act as a Project Director on smaller to medium sized projects.
• Provide specialised input to studies and designs within area of expertise.
• Identify and develop new processes that lead to improved efficiency or work quality.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical man-hours for project.
• Support business development and selling initiatives to expand work assignments.
• Manage client relationships and expectations.
• Assist with proposals and participate in the development of bids.
