Job Profile Summary:

This role analyses and advises business on business requirements and works with design & implementation staff to design & implement solutions within constraints.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Analyses past, present and future business environment.
  • Documents requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts, etc.
  • Works closely with systems analyst and agile team to design and implement solutions within constraints.
  • Owns systems, user acceptance testing and implementation of changes or new applications.
  • Ensures all testing protocols are adhered to.
  • Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.
  • Works with managers and relevant users on feasibility studies and establishing business and systems requirements.
  • Formulates strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment.
  • Analyses system or business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for
  • Facilitates the implementation of new or enhanced processes.
  • Reviews processes and conducts process audits, as required.
  • Provides support and facilitates sessions for end users, e.g. training.
  • Designs new business processes.
  • Consults to management (both IT and business) on business procedures and policies.
Role Qualifications/Experience required:
  • Matric plus a 3-year Tertiary Qualification (Degree or Diploma).
  • 8 years plus experience in business applications & exposure to IT functions.
  • Previous relevant working experience in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance industries is very advantageous-Preferred.
  • Experience working in a similar environment i.e. working on products that focus on financial goals
  • Previous relevant working experience in an Agile work environment (i.e. understanding the Agile Methodology and Development processes) is highly advantageous.
Key business analysis skills for agile projects:
  • Understanding of the business area that the project is involved with (domain knowledge).
  • Ability to ask strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problems (elicitation and probing).
  • Expertise in conceptual modeling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions.
  • Ability to document requirements formally or informally depending on the need of the project.
  • Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the agile development process.
  • Understand and practice the agile principles and values.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Familiarity with requirements techniques such as, user stories, use cases, and informal modeling.
  • These are the primary requirements techniques used by agile teams.
  • Ability to facilitate a team to reach consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation decisions.
Additional Job requirements:
  • Excellent analytical skills.
