We're looking for a senior professional with deep domain expertise in port infrastructure and regional trade corridors to deliver actionable insights and identify key growth opportunities across Southern Africa.
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience in port logistics, transit corridors, or transport infrastructure analysis
Strong understanding of the Southern African logistics ecosystem (SA, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini, Lesotho)
Excellent analytical, research, and reporting skills
Ability to engage stakeholders across public and private sectors
Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, transport economics, or a related field
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct market intelligence on port infrastructure, logistics providers, and transit operators across South Africa and its neighbouring countries
Map regional trade corridors, cargo volumes, and multimodal links (road, rail, ICDs, border posts)
Evaluate business models of both successful and defunct transit companies to understand key drivers and risks
Maintain a competitor dashboard tracking terminal operators, port authorities, logistics clusters, and planned infrastructure projects
Monitor policy developments, tariff regimes, and bottlenecks impacting cargo flows
Support investment feasibility studies, strategic planning, and due diligence processes
Liaise with stakeholders such as port authorities, customs officials, transport ministries, and logistics firms
Prepare quarterly market briefs highlighting trends, regulatory updates, and strategic shifts
