Want to be a part of our team? We are seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer to join our team and embark on a career path towards becoming a skilled Firewall Engineer. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of our clients' network security infrastructure. You will work closely with senior members of the team to gain hands-on experience and receive comprehensive training in firewall engineering. This role presents an exciting opportunity to develop a strong foundation in network security and advance your career in the cybersecurity industry.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, deployment, and administration of firewall solutions, including rule creation, modification, and optimization.

Collaborate with senior engineers to monitor and analyse network traffic, identify security vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures. Participate in the management of security devices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).

Conduct regular audits and assessments of network security infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Support incident response activities, investigate security incidents, and contribute to the development of incident handling procedures.

Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in network security technologies and assist in evaluating their potential impact on the organization.

Provide technical assistance to internal teams and clients, offering guidance and troubleshooting support related to network security issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Participate in knowledge sharing activities, including documentation, training sessions, and mentorship, to enhance the team's overall capabilities. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement by pursuing relevant certifications and staying informed about emerging security threats.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with firewall concepts, including access control lists (ACLs), NAT, VPNs, and stateful inspection.
  • Understanding of network security principles, such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to identify and resolve security issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), are a plus.
