To manage resources and coordinate all waste removal and transfer activities taking place in the DoH facilities (P3000, P2000, P2100 and P1700 QC labs) with a view to ensuring that activities and resources are prioritized to within NTP's best interests and all critical waste activities are completed on or ahead of schedule.
Key Performance Areas
Implement Departmental Business Plan and achieve targets/goals as set out.
Arrange collection of containers from Row F P1701 decay yard to P3000 monorail/ Red Area or collect from an internal site and ensure delivery to the red area.
Arrange the transport of the decay containers for compressible solid dry waste to the yard and ensure that it is placed on the right location.
Provide and monitor the inventory of 160L red and 210L yellow drums on a weekly and monthly basis for decay levels at P3000, P2100, P2000 and P1700 Active labs, through measurement of content, and arrange distribution as appropriate.
Manage P1701 Old decay yard Row F in terms of what decay drum is placed in what position and their quarterly decay readings.
Ensure that 160L red and 210L yellow drums are collected from P2000, P2100 and P1700 QC labs as per request by the client.
Ensuring that waste taken out and collected from P3000, P2000, P2100 and P1700 QC labs comply with NLM- WAR-0004 and related SHEQ-INS documents.
Ensure that all waste drums (concrete decay drum and steel red drums (160L) and (210L) yellow drums movements are documented (route card).
Physically stock taking and check the position and location of the drums monthly.
Responsible for the training of the Waste operators, qualification, and authorization thereof, ensuring that statutory training of personnel is kept current.
Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are generated. Ensuring the completion of all checklist and forms indicating the details in respect of drum specifications and forward to Pelstore for collection.
Liaise with NTP drivers and nuclear waste operators. Departments, production, maintenance, NLM, RPO and internal service providers when arranging the transportation of drums.
Making sure that waste activities with NTP facilities runs smoothly.
Complete transfer applications and a data pack with related documentation and deliver to P1701 waste yard Raw F for concrete decay drums. Get 30% to 50% empty spaces.
Keep records updated on all the position in the wheels.
Control, Manage and Supervise P3000 Red Area activities.
Housekeeping of P3000, P2000, P2100 and P1700 QC lab.
Manage Liquid storage tanks at P1600 and P3000 Basement and keep them as low as possible-50% in total volume.
Managing all request to dispose expired chemical in all facility handling, by receiving the inventories from each facility, with MSDS, placing a Purchase Order, and finally arranging for the collection of the expired chemicals.
Arranging for the decontamination and cleaning activities at P3000 facility weekly.
Ensure That Staff Comply with Safety Requirements Including the Gowning Of PPE.
CONTRIBUTE TO THE NUCLEAR WASTE MONTHLY REPORT
Input information into the electronic waste management system for record purposes.
Management of the two storage wheels and manage them (Small and Big waste wheels) - create more spaces as soon as dose rates are within acceptable limits.
Ensure that cGMP and GDP requirements are complied with.
Ensure that relevant records and reports are generated.
Ensure that generated records are reviewed, and that they comply with GDP requirements.
Ensure that all subordinates are successfully trained on GDP and cGMP.
Ensure that all relevant documents are available and kept current.
Ensure that equipment is identifies, validated and calibration status kept current, and records are easily available.
Ensure that personnel are adequately trained, authorized and SQEP'd to all relevant SSOPs, PRGs and that their records are kept current.
Making sure that all damaged equipment is reported via the Maintenance Request register and follow up that they are resolved before they are used.
Make sure that cost is minimized as best as possible.
Ensure that enough DPTE containers are in stock.
Ensure that enough CPTE containers are in stock.
Compile works procedures for Waste. Department and ensure that they are kept updated, Train and Qualify Operators.
Ensure that audit actions, CAPAs etc. are closed out on or before target dates agreed to with relevant stakeholders and that are closed effectively.
Ensuring that the housekeeping of P3000 blue area, passages and Lumitec is maintained inside and outside the buildings.
ENSURE THAT INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS ARE SATISFIED Ensure that the number of capa's are minimised, and that there are no re-occurrences within a financial year.
Ensure that customers get their orders on time.
Assist in keeping ntp's customers happy thru' feedback
Generate monthly/quarterly reports that includes information in respect of waste generated, transferred, and stored and submit for review and checking.
Generate new documents as requested in support of procedures.
Review procedures for updating and update as necessary.
INDIVIDUAL DUTIES

Job Requirements
Key Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of finance and the components involved in finance. Knowledge and understanding of NTP's SAR and OTS.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the company policies and procedures applicable to the specific work environment to ensure that work outcomes are compliant to the policies and procedures.
Sound knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation, regulations, principles, and their application in the workplace to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Basic knowledge of radiochemical production processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
National Diploma In Waste management
Minimum Experience:
4 - 6 years' experience working with radioactive waste or in a radioactive environment (Waste treatment).
At least two years' experience in a supervisory role
Code 10 driver's license would be an added advantageous
