Job Description

Primary duties

Guest interaction:

Greet customers, present menus, and answer questions about menu items and specials.

Order taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders, often using a Point of Sale (POS) system, and communicate them to the kitchen staff.

Serving: Deliver prepared food and drinks to tables promptly and efficiently.

Customer service: Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, and address any complaints or concerns.

Table maintenance: Clear tables, reset them for new customers, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.

Payment processing: Prepare bills and handle cash or credit card transactions accurately.Additional responsibilities

Making menu recommendations to upsell items like appetizers or desserts.

Collaborating with other staff, including kitchen and bar staff, to ensure smooth service.

Following health and safety regulations for food handling and cleanliness.

Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as rolling silverware or stocking service stations


Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: From R40,00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Stellenbosch, Western Cape (Stellenbosch): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:

waitering: 3 years (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
