The Role

The purpose of the role is to promote and sell the organizationxe2x80x99s products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets and assist our customers to exceed their targets by utilising the entire Sandvik offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales opportunities and sales plans within the defined territory or set of customers.
  • Provide the company with regular status reports on business activities, opportunity development and overall satisfaction of the customerxe2x80x99s base
  • Anticipate, understand customer needs, and match them with our product offering to maximize customer value and sales profit
  • Pursue sales leads by visit existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization.
  • Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Collect and communicate relevant business and market intelligence to product and sales management by using the applicable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans; prioritize and schedule own activities to meet these targets.
  • Certify that customer abides by Sandvik terms and conditions of sale.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.
Profile Required
  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
  • Degree in Mining/Mechanical Engineering/Business Management
  • 3 xe2x80x93 4 yearsxe2x80x99 technical or sales experience preferably in Surface Mining
  • Experience in front line sales and customer relations (advantageous)
  • Experience in mining applications (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Sandvik Rotary Drill products and/or services and their applications (advantageous)
  • Technical Trade or Competence (advantageous)
  • Mine Overseer certificate of competence (advantageous)
  • English proficiency
  • Computer literacy
  • A valid driverxe2x80x99s licence
  • Physical and medical ability to work in a mining environment
