: Sales Engineer (High Volume Manufacturing)
Location: East Rand, Johannesburg (National Travel Required)
Reports to: Sales Manager / General Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with a strong background in high-volume manufacturing, ideally within the packaging industry, to join our dynamic team. Based in the East Rand and willing to travel nationally, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding strategic business relationships with key clients while identifying new opportunities to grow the company's market share. Your mechanical engineering expertise, combined with hands-on experience in sales, tendering, and costing agreements, will ensure your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
? Client Relationship Management

• Build, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with existing clients across South Africa.
• Act as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for client accounts, providing expert support and solutions tailored to their needs.
• Conduct regular client visits, reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

? Market & Industry Mapping

• Conduct detailed market research to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics in the high-volume manufacturing and packaging industries.
• Develop and execute a clear market penetration strategy to increase the company's share of wallet with existing clients and secure new business.

? Sales & Business Development

• Drive sales of high-volume manufacturing solutions, equipment, and/or services, meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
• Generate and qualify leads, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts in line with company policies.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including technical presentations, tender submissions, and closing agreements.

? Technical Expertise & Support

• Leverage your mechanical engineering knowledge to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Prepare accurate tenders, quotations, and costing agreements in alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
• Provide input into product development and improvement initiatives based on customer feedback and market insights.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or Similar Degree
• Proven experience as a Sales Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a track record of developing client relationships and delivering sales growth.
• Strong exposure to the packaging industry will be a distinct advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in tenders, costing, and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of the South African manufacturing and industrial landscape.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, CRM tools, and basic financial modelling.
• Willing and able to travel nationally as required.
• Based in the East Rand, with a valid driver's license and own transport.
