About the Role
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who's hands-on, curious, and excited to contribute across all areas of marketing.
The modern SDR is the engine of pipeline generation in a SaaS or B2B sales organisation. They are responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying leads to hand off to Account Executives (AEs) or sales reps. SDRs are often the first point of contact for potential customers. They specialise in building consistent pipelines by acquiring and qualifying leads, ensuring that the sales team focuses on high-value opportunities.
This is a broad and dynamic role that's ideal for a SDR who enjoys both creative and analytical work, and who wants to have a meaningful impact in a purpose-led, scaling startup.
What You Will Do
Lead Qualification: Manage inbound inquiries and qualify leads for function, fit, and budget. This includes determining whether prospects align with the company's Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and have the resources to invest in the product or service.
Outbound Prospecting: Execute outbound campaigns using sales engagement platforms to identify and engage potential customers. This involves crafting personalised outreach sequences, leveraging account-based marketing content, and initiating touch patterns across multiple channels.
Pipeline Generation: Book meetings for AEs or founders by engaging prospects and addressing their pain points. The focus is on solving problems rather than selling features, ensuring that outreach resonates with potential customers.
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to utilise content like customer testimonials, case studies, and webinars to fuel outreach efforts. Share feedback from outreach to improve messaging and targeting.
Metrics Tracking: Track and measure activities such as calls, emails, and meetings. Focus on outcomes rather than volume, ensuring that activities lead to meaningful opportunities and pipeline growth.
Continuous Learning: Participate in feedback loops, share successful and unsuccessful outreach examples, and refine strategies based on what resonates with prospects. Leverage mentorship and coaching to improve performance.
What We Are Looking For
3+ years of experience, within a B2B SaaS organisation.
Coachability: Ability to learn, adapt, and improve based on feedback is critical for success in this role.
Persistence and Grit: Resilience and consistency, as the role involves high volumes of rejection and requires a strong work ethic.
Problem-Solving Focus: Focus on addressing the top pain points of prospects rather than pushing features or generic pitches.
Organisation and Time Management: Operate in a structured environment, requiring staying on top of workloads and prioritise effectively.
Hunger and Motivation: A strong desire to succeed and grow within the organisation is essential.
Proficiency developing, maintaining and executing a well-defined sales development process.
Experience with sales engagement platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation platforms and data providers.
Excellent communication and negotiations skills.
Teamwork.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to be creative, adaptable and be resilient.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent data management.
Goal, results and customer-oriented mindset.
Proven track record of taking ownership and exceeding targets.
