Grade 12
National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management
SAMTRAC Certification
At least 3years' experience as a Safety Officer within the Construction industry
Comprehensive knowledge of OHS Act and other relevant legislation.
Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g.SACPCMP) - advantageous
Accident Investigations qualification - advantageous
Valid driver's license
Good planning, organizational and administrative skills
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with the OHS Act
Conducting regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all sites.
Compiling of method statements in accordance with scope of work.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain records and documentation related to safety inspections, incidents, and training
Compiling of project site safety files
Providing employee induction and training on safety practices and emergency procedures
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements
