Job Purpose

We are seeking a qualified and experienced

Safety Officer

to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and to promote a safe working environment on site.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and relevant regulations Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits Implement and monitor Health & Safety policies, procedures, and systems Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and compile reports Maintain safety records, registers, and documentation Liaise with management, contractors, and employees on safety matters Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment on site Stop unsafe work practices when necessary

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) Diploma in Safety Management or related qualifications SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / Safety Management qualification Valid SACPCMP registration (or in the process of registering) Minimum of [3-5] years' experience as a Safety Officer Knowledge of OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and ISO standards Strong reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, reports)

Added Advantage

First Aid Level 1/2 Fire Fighting certificate Incident Investigation training Experience in construction or high-risk environments
