Job Summary Duties:
Guest Greeting & Welcome: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, provide a friendly first impression, and direct them to the host stand or waiting area.
Reservations & Seating: Manage the reservation system, accurately record walk-ins, and assign guests to tables to ensure efficient turnover and balance the workload for servers.
Wait Time Management: Provide accurate wait time estimates for guests and manage the waiting area, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Information & Assistance: Answer phone calls, provide information about the restaurant, menu items, and hours, and address general guest inquiries.
Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, ingredients, and prices to answer guest questions and make recommendations when asked.
Front-of-House Operations: Maintain a clean and organized host stand and front-of-house area and ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
Team Support: Support the waiting staff by assisting with tasks such as refilling waters, running food, or even bussing tables during busy shifts.
Problem Resolution: Handle guest feedback and resolve any immediate issues or concerns with professionalism and poise.
Requirements:
Grade 12
A formal qualification will be an advantage
At least 2+ years' experience in a similar Front of House position
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Good physical stamina for standing and walking for long periods.
Familiarity with reservation software and point-of-sale systems.
