Job Description

Main purpose of the job:

• To consent, enroll study patients; capture clinical data for Urology OPD; capture research questionnaire at Urology OPD; assist with bio-sample logistics; maintain patient contact and follow-ups

Location:

• Urology OPD, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

• Recruit participants according to study inclusion/exclusion criteria
• Obtain consent from participants of the study
• Address relevant concerns and misconceptions about the study with participants
• Receive queries from participants and address or refer the queries to your line manager accordingly
• Capture clinical data for Urology OPD
• Capture research questionnaire at Urology OPD
• Assist with bio-sample logistics
• Maintain patient contact and follow-ups
• Report on follow-up visits, missed visits, surveillance calls, and illness visits
• Establishing a relationship of trust and respect with participants
• Build and maintain authentic relationships with all stakeholders ensuring that all interactions are professional

Required minimum education and training:

• National Senior Certificate

Required minimum work experience:

• 2 years minimum experience in a research environment

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• Data capturing training or experience
• Patient enrolment experience
• Ethics & GCP trained
• Able to work well with others in a team
