To manage and prepare all regulatory activities and requirements of the Research Committee
To coordinate the duties of the committee and that of Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) management in review and approvals of research applications
To coordinate the committee meetings, meetings of the committee chairperson and the Provincial Research Directorate and other entities
To act as a liaison between the committee, HREC, and applicants
To work and report to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) research committee chair

Key performance areas:
To identify, compile, and submit information necessary to facilitate the speedy resolution of research application approvals
Facilitate Research Committee meetings
Compile minutes taken at meetings
Liaise between applicants, committee reviewers, and Clinical Director/CEO offices
Keep and track a record of the application review and approval process and application time
Advice applicants about the application process
Compile a monthly report to be submitted to the committee and Provincial Research Committee
Assist the committee in planning research symposia
Perform ad hoc administration assignments and duties i.e., following up with the CEOxe2x80x99s office or reviewers for completion of the review process
Provide front office support as and when required i.e., telephone and communication with applicants
Undertake, and train relevant staff members on, archiving activities
Required minimum education and training:
Grade 12
Required minimum education and training:
Minimum of 1 year experience within a Regulatory environment
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:
High level of precision, accuracy, and attention to detail
Exceptional organizational and administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making
Ability to prioritize own workload, take initiative (pro-active), and work to tight deadlines
Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, values, and integrity
